So why force a character into a tone that doesn’t suit them? There are so, SO many detectives in DETECTIVE COMICS they could’ve made it a show about The Question, or Martian Manhunter, even Detective Chimp would fit this better than Green Lantern.

Whats weird is that this is ONE story why are people acting like Green Lantern lore is not gonna happen? IS it because we need Hal Jordan for it? What if with the Corp they give it to Guy and Kyle Rayner ? This is the start of the universe , to act has if Hal Jordan isnt coming back is silly He will why would Sinestro say he can come back to life. They want to focus on John Stewart then we get Hal Jordan back. Their is tremendous story telling potential with a returned Hal Jordan cause now John has to interact with a new Hal Jordan in his prime thats optimistic and not jaded John Stewart can has DCU goes forward can have that closure he couldn't have with the Hal Jordan he couldn't see to this NEW younger Hal Jordan or better John Stewart mentors Kyle Rayner and transfers the knowledge he knew from Hal to Kyle to become his GL.

My point is that if you took lanterns exactly as it is a dropped it i the DCEU the same people defending it would be the ones crapping on it. It’s a terrible representation of the characters none of the lore is right

If you want to do a serious, true detective style show to change the tonality of the Dcu do it with characters that fit that genre. Characters like the question and Jonah hex would have been perfect . Not green lantern
