@eldar.chronicles: Gondor’s armor carries the memory of an ancient kingdom, its fading glory, and the men sworn to defend it. In Tolkien’s books, Gondorian soldiers wear mail and helms. The Guards of the Citadel preserve its most remarkable treasures: tall mithril helmets with close-fitting cheek guards and carved seabird wings, heirlooms surviving from Gondor’s days of greatness. Their black livery bears the flowering White Tree beneath a silver crown and stars—the emblems of Elendil’s heirs. During the final years of the Stewards, this honor belongs uniquely to the Citadel Guard. On the walls of Minas Tirith, that ancient splendor meets the harsh reality of war. Beneath every helmet stands a man with a home to protect, facing the darkness gathering across the river. #Gondor #LOTR #MiddleEarth #Tolkien #EldarChronicles

It's not what Tolkien wrote... In the Lord of the Rings weapons and armour were those of the XIth century... Peter Jackson went to the XVth century...
