yes I told my father to tell my little brother that he was proud of him. I was so pissed off with my father and told him if he didn't ,he would regret it and I wasn't waiting for my brother's death. Thankfully he did but we lost my brother 2yrs later but lest he knew dad loved him and was proud of him too.
