@intels5: Spanish ranked as the most positive language in a study comparing 10 languages. Researchers examined roughly 100,000 commonly used words drawn from books, news, social media and other sources, asking native speakers to rate how positive or negative each word felt. The team collected around five million ratings and found that every language studied leaned toward positive words. Spanish web pages produced the highest average happiness score among the text collections. The finding describes the emotional tone of language, rather than how happy its speakers are.
