Ume had an option because she never turned into a demon. Acceptance is required for demonization so Ume couldn’t become a demon. Gyutaro absorbed her and she lived on as a subconscious presence which Gyutaro put into a clone body. Daki came from the woman Douma was carrying and she occupies Ume’s body. Daki abandoned Ume and Gyutaro when the obis returned and she didn’t die.
