I became a parent to the entire family 💔so I got used to providing, protecting, caring, building, yoh the list goes on. This affects my relationships so much, cause I start parenting immediately! Being a firstborn daughter has made me terrified of having kids because I feel like I’ve already raised my siblings. I was always blamed when my younger brother misbehaved, so I became strict to avoid getting into trouble myself. Now we’re adults, but I still struggle to see him as anything other than someone I’m responsible for, and it’s strained our relationship. I’m scared of repeating this cycle and making my own firstborn a deputy parent. I love my siblings, but I wish I’d been allowed to just be their sister.
