Seva Kumar :
thier existence is so lacking it's debatable there's only two appear in canon show for one ep showing up as luna personal escorts and their name are supposed to be echo and nocturn even though it's claimed by all sources that it's thier canon names I am not sure and probably doesn't matter anyway because they don't appear again and other time they appear is in cutie remark ep even then after one of them who is rainbow dash btw took off her helmet she had normal eyes suggesting they might not exist at all and it's just magical enchantment illusion or costume all along and another possibility might be animation error which is unlikely to get wrong compare to other factors so yes bat ponies are confusing aside from existence of Flutterbat which can considered bat pony but she aren't naturally born that way so yes it's suck there's no clearly answers so the fandom just had to gaslight us into thinking they existed aside from that one time in idw comic the mane six go all bat ponies ok I should stop talking that's getting really long thanks you for reading my stupid bubbling whoever you are strangers

In my verse, there is two types. Fruit bat ponies and blood bat ponies. The fruit ones love fruit and mangos are irresistible to the them, while blood bats are the darker ones who are omnivores
