@rteradio1: More than 300,000 public sector workers including nurses, doctors, teachers and civil servants, are taking strike action over delays in agreeing a new public sector pay deal. The 24-hour work stoppage will cause widespread disruption including the closure of schools and the cancellation of thousands of hospital appointments. Our reporters John Cooke, Brian O'Connell and Una Kelly are chatting to those on the picket lines across the country.

Y is there always 1 :

I am a public service worker...... Stood on a picket line since 6am and want to sincerely thank the 100% of people who have given 100% support, nothing not a single negative comment from anyone .. car horns constantly going as drivers passed by ... Thanks again to everyone for your support....

moggymoo1992 :

Private low & middle income workers also need support, rising PRSI & employers unable to keep up with wage increases in line with inflation.
