@camplifenation: Educator Who D*ed on Six Flags Coaster Had Survived Cancer and Car Fire, Family Friend Says Weeks before Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem d*ed at Six Flags Over Georgia, he and his daughter survived a car fire, according to a family friend. The 42-year-old Atlanta educator had also survived cancer and a serious case of C*VID-19, Elicia Day told WSB-TV. Now, his loved ones are seeking answers about what happened on the Goliath roller coaster on October 12. Cobb County police said their preliminary investigation indicated that Kariem was ejected from the ride, struck other riders, and fell beneath the attraction. Officers found him unresponsive and not breathing. Authorities said several other people were inj*red. Police have not established in the supplied report what caused him to be ejected. Their investigation remains ongoing. “We want answers about how this happened,” Day said. A witness told WXIA that Kariem’s son was sitting beside him when the incident occurred. That account came from the witness, rather than the police findings described in the report. Away from the park, Kariem worked as an IT manager at Wesley International Academy. He had also served as a technology teacher and IT specialist, and relatives described how much he loved his work. Atlanta Public Schools remembered him as a cherished member of the school community whose impact reached students and staff. Six Flags expressed condolences and said it was cooperating with investigators and supporting those affected. For his loved ones, the loss remains difficult to put into words after everything he had overcome. What message of support would you share with Kariem’s family and school community? #HassanKariem #SixFlagsOverGeorgia #Atlanta #CommunityLoss #WesleyInternationalAcademy
