You know what’s crazy… there are certain blessings in life that you don't fully appreciate until something happens that makes you realise how easily they can be taken away. And health is probably one of the biggest. You can wake up in the morning, get out of bed, walk downstairs, make yourself breakfast and go about your day without giving any of it a second thought. Until one day, you can't. And suddenly, all the things you were worrying about yesterday don't seem quite as important anymore. The money you wanted to make. The things you wanted to buy. The arguments you were having. The people you were trying to impress. None of it seems to matter quite as much when all you want is to feel healthy again. And I think that's something we need to remind ourselves of whilst we're still well. Because somewhere right now, somebody is lying in a hospital bed wishing they could do the ordinary things you've done today without even thinking about them. Someone is praying for the ability to walk without pain. To sleep through the night. To breathe comfortably. To wake up feeling like themselves again. And here we are, sometimes so focused on everything we don't have that we forget to appreciate what Allah has already given us. I'm not saying you shouldn't have ambitions or worry about the genuine difficulties in your life. But I do think we need to put things into perspective occasionally. Look after your body. Make time for your health. Don't take your ability to move, work, eat and spend time with the people you love for granted. And most importantly, thank Allah for these blessings whilst you still have them. Alhamdulillah for our health, and may Allah grant shifa to everyone who is unwell, ease their suffering and restore their strength. Ameen.
