This is extremely reductionist lol. Just because someone had doctor parents doesn’t mean they didn’t also grind to make connections and get opportunities. Yeah there’s definitely advantages but everyone’s experience is different and casting this shadow just seems like projection

i mean this in the nicest way possible. as a first gen, its easy to feel frustrated and have resentment towards those who have family in medicine. however, it was a harsh reality realizing that some of those nepo babies were actually some of the kindest people i met in medicine. i felt the same way you did early in med school, so i completely understand. nonetheless, please realize that its wrong judgement and medicine is hard for everyone

Had one of my classmates ask in a meeting that our whole class had to be in if he could “use a letter of recommendation from the CEO of a hospital as a department chair letter” these people do not live in reality

Bad take because regardless you still need to have brain power to do well on mcat step 1 and 2 or any boards so the you don’t have to work hard is BS at the end of the day you both work hard regardless a good doctor is based on the individual not if you are a nepo baby

Frankly this applies to Eveything not just medical school, if you have that dawg in you , you will get to where you need to be saying this as somone in medicine without any connections/ background
