@thebrainmaze: When Your Stomach Moves Into Your Chest - A hiatal hernia occurs when part of the stomach pushes through the diaphragm into the chest.Surgery restores the stomach’s position and tightens the diaphragm opening to help prevent reflux.
I have a hiatus hernia..The reflux heartburn and difficulty not swallowing is an absolute nightmare and worse at times

I think my CERT girlfriend had the surgery and she said she never gets reflux more but she’s not able to throw up if they do that procedure where they wrap the stomach around the esophagus and make it stronger. Would that be why you’re not able to throw up I’m sorry it’s sick.

I had this surgery 20 days ago, it went back into place, my stomach is slowly improving, and the acid reflux has completely stopped.

Had this for years atleast 20. Continued to seek help for it and was consistently ignored. Pain was so severe at times attended hospital on a few occasions and sent away. When I was diagnosed with cancer and had to have CT Scans etc this showed in my notes. All these years I was ignored with this problem. My cancer is obviously a seperate issue but it confirmed for me what I had been going through. Isn't no little indigestion or mild heartburn.
