@gustavo.tavy.falc: This was the Miami-to-Bimini race in 8–10 foot seas! 🌊🏁 The conditions were so rough that the only way we could make it through was by learning to ride those massive swells. As throttleman, I had to ride the boat all the way up the face of each wave and then bring it back down as we came over the top. It was all about timing, feel, and keeping the boat under control. When we finally reached Bimini, we got black-flagged. The race was over after just 50 miles. To be honest, I was upset. I was running right behind the V-bottoms, and I wanted to keep going. We were out there to race, and I felt we still had more to give. But think about it — what were we going to do? Put the boat on a trailer and go home? 😂 We still had to ride all the way back to Miami in those same conditions! Looking back, it was one hell of an experience. Back then, all I wanted was to keep racing. Today, I realize just how challenging those conditions really were. That's old-school offshore racing — big waves, big risks, and memories that last a lifetime!
