It was meant to be the first of 15 university campus appearances in Charlie Kirk’s The American Comeback Tour, during which the activist intended to spread his conservative ideals at liberal-leaning colleges through his uncompromising debating style. Tyler Robinson, a 23-year-old apprentice electrician, has been charged with Kirk's murder and faces the death penalty if convicted. A trial date will be set at the next court hearing, on October 23.
