Had a child (2 year old) that had a severe asthma attack. I called 911 first then TRIED to call mom. Mom didnt answer. Tried then entire time emts were here. Called her emergency contact who then tried to call mom. I had to ride with the child to the er and stayed with her. Emergency contact met us at the er. Mom FINALLY answered and came to the hospital about 5-6 hours later. The child ended up being hospitalized for several days.

That’s crazy that the parent is more concerned about their bill then their child’s well being. Like if it is to the point of needing to call the ambulance then they r getting called first then the parent.

Since the ambulance was called by a daycare or a school setting, normally the school or daycare‘s insurance that you have to take out will take care of the ambulance bill instead of the parent the bill might come to the parent, but they have to forward it to the daycare people so they can send it to their insurance company to take care of the call. I used to run with the ambulance and have been called to school for several things and that’s one thing that we had to do is to write two separate bills, so one that the parent can have for their services and bill for the hospital for their services because sometimes we had to go to court, so thankfully the child is OK but it’s annoying because you don’t know what actually the outcome would have been if the daycare provider did not call and the parent was screaming at you because you did call not concerned about the health and safety of their child. They were seeing Signs of what it would cost them in any way at all and then they try to sue daycare because sometimes it’s not as serious as daycare thought it was.

You agree to these things when you sign intake contracts. I'd rather an ambulance called when not required than a delay in medical attention when it is required.
