@dailyfaithministry: Why Did Satan Quote Psalm 91 to Jesus? The Verse He Refused to Read Of every passage in Scripture, Satan chose Psalm 91 to quote to Jesus. And he stopped one verse too early. Why did Satan quote Psalm 91? In this Bible study from Daily Faith Ministry, you will discover how Psalm 91 was read in the time of Jesus. Among the Dead Sea Scrolls it was kept with songs against evil spirits, and the ancient rabbis had a name for it. The devil quoted to the Son of God the very psalm people prayed against him. We look at the temptation on the pinnacle of the temple in Matthew 4: the four words Satan removed from the verse, why a half quoted Scripture is so dangerous, how the same method was used in the garden of Eden, and why Jesus answered from Deuteronomy. Then we read the verse Satan would not say, and follow one thread through the whole Bible: Genesis 3:15, Psalm 91, Luke 10:19, and Romans 16:20. You will also learn three questions to ask whenever a verse is used to accuse you, and what the last three verses of Psalm 91 really promise to a believer in trouble. This message is for anyone who has had Scripture used against them, or who has stopped reading at the verse that condemns and never reached the verse that redeems. The Bible does not end at the verse that convicts you.
