@nbcconnecticut: Dozens of homes in East Hampton have been impacted by a power surge that the town says was caused by an Eversource equipment malfunction. The town says homes along Hog Hill Rd., Terp Rd., and Schoolhouse Lane are among those affected. Eversource and local firefighters are checking homes for possible electrical damage before power is restored. Residents can decline an inspection, but would have their power restored at their own risk. Officials are also warning residents not to use generators until their home’s wiring has been checked.
