I'm a Teamster Truck driver for a big food company For groceries. The one thing you don't do is cross the picket line when teamsters are striking. That's a big, no. No. That's the reason why they're striking there to prove a point for what they're fighting for.

Sysco and the Teamsters have already agreed on wages and benefits, but they’re still fighting over the no-strike clause. So basically, they’re striking now for the right to strike in the future.

Food service trucking is one of the hardest jobs out here. Union deals are the reason why overall wages in the sector go up. If scaps didnt exist Union deals would be done in a day 🤷🏾

I understand that everybody’s trying to make a living. We all have families and bills to pay, including us out here on strike. But that’s exactly why we’re fighting for a fair contract. When drivers cross the picket line and do our jobs, it helps Sysco keep operating without having to come to an agreement with us. We’re not out here because we don’t want to work. We’re out here because we’re fighting for our rights. We can hold the company accountable while also calling out people who choose to cross the line.
