She took questions from just three outlets. Then she sent reporters to go ask Trump instead. "It was the first day of kindergarten for the new White House press secretary," Kimmel said. Then he played a clip of Zacharia slowly reading her prepared remarks praising Trump. "Her reading is good for an 11-year-old," Kimmel laughed. "He hired a fourth grader to be press secretary." He didn't stop there. Kimmel dug up her old cable news appearances, where she pushed Trump's false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, attacked Anthony Fauci and predicted the movie The Odyssey would flop because it was "woke." "Well, that 'woke' movie went on to make $1.8 billion," Kimmel said. "We got a smart one here." He also played the moment she mixed up the president and her husband, and the moment reporters pressed her on where she passed the bar exam and she answered: "China." Trump, of course, said she "did excellent." Kimmel had a different review. "Katie's first outing was, as her boss might say, a total disaster," he said.
