I'm on Lisinopril 25mg and Amlodipine 10mg. my ankle swelling is horrible and my Dr has told me to just get compression socks. I don't feel that's an acceptable answer.

At one time was prescribed 4 BP meds daily, due to resistant hypertension & swelling, now only take 2 meds, 100 mg Losartan & 50 mg Spironolactone. But concerned about unknown long term side effects.

Why is it handled with prescriptions instead of figuring out the WHY behind it!? I’ve had chronic high bp for 5 years despite medication and despite a healthy lifestyle. Doctor refused an echo bc he doesn’t “ feel” it has anything to do with my heart, despite family history.

I got off all the poison. I had a severe cough with one med. Swelling in feet and ankles with another med. The last med was an allergic reaction because of my allergy to Salfa.

You didn't mention Losartan. Since it's in the Sartan family, I'll assume it's ok. Question as bout Hydrochlorothiazide. Is it true that it is hard on the kidneys? If so what do you recommend?

Newly diagnosed hypertension my blood pressure has always run pretty high I’ve lost over 70 lbs thinking it would help … but it didn’t at all I’ve been on metoprolol and feel so much better
