that scene was so the most heartbreaking one, that piece was devastating it felt like all those years they lost while they were apart one buried in grief one buried in hurt and hatred and when they reunited again playing 4 hands again, both were still feeling broken and guilty... jeong yo to make Pi O move on and find peace had to make that sacrifice and said goodbye through that piece...

jeongyo was saying goodbye to his hand, his dream, and pio. he could've left without saying anything, but he decided to throw this funeral as his final act of love. it was his way of honoring what they used to have. jeongyo convincing pio to play the piano again was almost like what the corpses would've told the survivors: to continue living, to continue without the people who left. but on the brighter side, this was also jeongyo's way to bid his pain and revenge goodbye. he put it all to rest so his memories could rest in peace, and he could rest in love.
