What happens when a person stops believing that they are worthy of receiving the things that keeps them alive? Eating disorders such as Anorexia often develops inside a person with insecurities and low confidence of themselves, but that doesn’t necessarily mean such thing would never hit a completely confident person, Eating is not just a survival mechanism sometimes its portrayed as a reward, celebration or intimacy , after a huge success for example: people often reward themselves with a high class meal and some nice wine, but have you ever thought that If food can become a reward, what happens when someone decides they have done nothing worthy of being rewarded? ‏A majority of people starts losing appetite ridiculously at some point of their lives, even if they didn’t want to lose weight and that mostly are because these people think that they don’t deserve a reward such as a meal, they do eat yeah but never enough to feel fill, just enough to survive and not black out. Some people often does not just consciously think that they deserve to starve and suffer, it can become quieter; they say to themselves that they’ll eat later or that they’re not hungry, and then it hit me, can self-destruction exist without the conscious desire to destroy oneself? And if we’re going to go on a deeper level we’ll have to talk about the paradox of self-worth, one could argue: The person who believes that they must “ earn “ food has already confused being alive with being worthy of living in the first place. A conflict between the mind and the body occurs The body in need of nutrition says feed me. And a quite yet powerful sentence of the mind says not yet. And as Friedrich Nietzsche once said “ He who a why to live can bear almost any how “ And what i concluded of this; that if someone ever lost their (why) even ordinary mechanisms of living start to feel awkwardly pointless So my question is; if we started believing that we must deserve the things that pleasures us before allowing ourselves to experience them, will we eventually begin to believe that we must deserve our existence? #fyp #cassie #niche #nietszche
