I took a CPS training while I was an ECE teacher. The facilitator started the training off reminding us that as humans we are the only mammals that don’t trust our own intuitive nature. I never forgot that.

At my dad’s funeral, his shark friends made some shark promises of shark bites they’d do on my behalf if I asked them. I cut all the sharks off because it’s a matter of time before I end up bitten too.

Well.. I get the analogy, but to be fair sometimes we “project” onto ppl that we don’t know really well. It’s entirely possible to know someone has “issues”, but it’s hard to fully grasp what someone is capable of unless you see it personally.
