@discoverymama: 🌳 East Hartford area moms, have you been to this park ? Martin Park is a pretty large community park with a little bit of everything, and while some areas could definitely use some TLC, the playground itself was a nice find. It was updated in 2022 and has plenty of shade, which is always a mom plus! There’s also basketball courts, a baseball field, football field, picnic pavilions, and access to the Hockanum River walking trails. There is also a skatepark and a historic outdoor swimming pool, although both looked pretty run-down when we visited. The pool was closed for the 2026 season due to needed repairs, and the skatepark was locked. Not every park we visit is going to be a hidden gem, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth sharing! 🚻 Bathrooms on site Overall, I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way for this one, but if you’re local to East Hartford or already in the area, it’s another playground worth knowing about!
