My OCD is all mental and so debilitating so nobody would ever know by looking at me. It’s wild.

Look up the link between ADHD and OCD in women too. You might have it and they might feed off each other! It is often missed in women because of high intelligence and masking

i have been diagnosed with ocd and autism and i’ve convinced myself i manipulated the psychologist and psychiatrist that evaluated me and i’m not actually autistic.

My OCD told me I had AIDS in college. I never slept. I couldn’t breathe at night. I researched symptoms all day and night. I continued to go to the student health center and get tested. I got tested about 8 times in a short period of time. I had no reason to believe I was exposed. I wasn’t diagnosed withOCD until the last time I went to get tested and they sent me to the school psychologist instead.

I’m sitting in awe Watching this. my thing is saying I wanna kms and I’m so embarrassed when I say it. I’ve never done it around people (at least not loud enough for them to hear). I’m learning more and more that my anxiety is ocd…

Not me just now realizing the “I hate my life” is a compulsion. I used to say it ALL the time in HS almost like it “summed up” the thoughts so I didn’t have to think them

Yeah I had no idea this was part of my OCD either. I’ve had the same thought interruption!! Wow this is wild. I mean I figured it was my brain snapping me out of spiraling but yeah just wow.

I have to combat my compulsions by asking myself what I’m avoiding by worrying about my family in some freak accident. I’ve had the freak accident happen to me twice so it feels so logical but once I start reasoning through why that’s not logical then I can focus on what I’m avoiding. I don’t know if ocd tendencies can be lessened over time by intentionally not thinking about the tragic events but I was medicated for a couple years but feel much more clear now being off them. I obviously still struggle sometimes and there’s probably things I’m doing compulsively but active awareness that I’m performing compulsions is helping a lot right now. Thanks for sharing this video!!!! Hugs 🥰

omg the pinching thing!! i do that when i get socially anxious and i’m trying not panic as they’re speaking to me. I would pinch my hands or squeeze them superrr tight. I recently bought spiky fidgets to keep w me so i can stop pinching myself😅

I think you’re the one person (who has been completely open about it) who I’ve been able to relate the most to.

This conversation is so important! I grew up diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression as a child (8ish years old), it was only in the last few years that I’ve been diagnosed with OCD.

I found out I had ocd after experiencing extreme sexual orientation ocd. And yeah that really isn’t something people talk about or that I ever see represented and felt and sometimes still feel a lot of shame around.
