jazz is basically a freestyle as long as they hit a couple specific moves, which they did. samba is a very strict style, connor was missing a lot of samba content, and lifts are not allowed at all in samba

I still don’t understand why they do different types of dance each week. Make everyone do the same type of dance during the same week to show who is good at that specific type of dance 🤔

julia’s dance was iconic and incredibly done, however it was not jazz and the scores should’ve reflected that😭

As someone who is a jazz dancer Julia’s dance wasn’t hip hop. It was street-jazz/ jazz funk. You could still enter that as a jazz duet in a dance competition. She does a lot of jazz specific moves in the dance and chair-choreography is a key feature of many professional musical jazz numbers

No genuinely it’s so annoying. They haven’t even pointed out that Connor has improved week after week. Is he the strongest? No, has he improved every single week? Absolutely. They’re so mean to Connor it makes no sense.

Jazz is essentially a freestyle and not actual ballroom. It’s way less technical than any of the other actual ballroom styles so they get a lot more freedom. I actually don’t even know why they have Jazz on the show

What samba was Connor missing? Because I used to be a competitive ballroom dancer in college and I personally thought his dance had a lot of samba syllabus in it, so what was the content issue?

Jazz is really just to allow the couple to not have to be in hold for the dance. It’s never had to be like specific technique jazz type

tbf jazz vs hip hop and samba vs hip hop are two very different conversations, jazz is basically a freestyle so there’s a lot more wiggle room to ignore the proper technique

Do the judges have any actual rubric or whatever that they’re going off of??? Are we judging against their own improvement or each other?? How much do they actually need to follow the traditional dance?? This season feels sooo inconsistent w judging (mostly u CAI)

i genuinely don’t think they should be mixing “jazz” in on the same week others have sambas or salsa or literally any ballroom or latin dance because how is it fair to score one that is heavily technique or foot work based and one that is not (besides classical jazz)

Cause how does CA say its a lift and says a lift is when any movement where one dancer executes a movement with the assistance of their partner while both feet are completely off the floor but Jenna didn’t lift him. 🤨😒🙄
