So interesting. Do judges look for these precedents or are presented with them? In Louisiana it’s very different. There’s no precedent, there’s just the letter of the law. Doesn’t matter what other states and judges do.

Fantastic Judge. Had one like this in a Virginia County I served in. A Good Officer/Trooper/Deputy should do the same. Take a dam Minute and make sure your interpreting the Statute correctly. In my day if a citizen is citing me chapter and Verse not "I KNOW MY RIGHTS" But chapter and verse of a statute I called the Commonwealth Attorney to make sure I am applying the law correctly. Todays young bucks, their egos and poor leadership they hook you up, dont care and let the judge deal with it. Nothing comes back on the officers. My day the judges would be calling the Sheriffs/Chiefs etc and telling them to get their people straight
