@columbuszooandaquarium: Ever wonder what goes on in the giraffe barn when you’re not visiting The Wilds? Some days, it’s activities like this – hanging enrichment puzzles for our herd! By using hanging enrichment like you see here, the giraffe in our care are able to mimic their natural foraging behaviors, and it keeps them mentally and physically active throughout the day. It also helps slow down eating for our herd, forcing them to use their 18-inch tongues and work for their food! Starting in November, you can see (and feed) our giraffes inside their cozy, warm (super tall) barn when you book a Winter Wildside Tour! Plan your next month’s trip by visiting our website. #giraffe #enrichment
