I feel this so much. I had a brain aneurysm rupture, they took my skull out, got it back in surgery #2 3 months later and then ended up in the hospital with sepsis and surgery #3. Now I’m on iv antibiotics 3x a day awaiting surgery #4 and my husband helps with everything including showers

As a chronically ill person who was in a relationship for 22 years (15 of that a marriage) you are lucky to have him. A lot of people get the people that get mean. I guarantee he feels lucky right back. Big hugs

I had a cardiac arrest last year and he never even left the hospital. If it wasn’t for my daughter coming he would have never left the hospital to shower, eat real food, sleep. I’m so greatful for him cause now my health is shit and he is so patient with me

I got some new found permanent health issues from a accident with my husband from my butt getting smacked to it moved my hip wrong and makes me in pain to I barely touched u. Doctor appointments all the time now multiple surgeries and more to come

my wife got a [HUGE] pilonidal cyst during her third trimester of pregnancy. she was double miserable. we learned that some spouses/so's (mostly men) will just leave their wives at the hospital to have the doctors deal with their recovery/ daily rebandagings etc. I had the nurses teach me everything that I needed to do at home so we could leave asap and get her comfortable again. she took nearly 3 WEEKS to recover and I can't imagine being separated for more than a day.

I went through stage 3 colorectal cancer. Had to have 6 surgeries since the chemo and radiation ended. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hugged my wife and just apologized for all the pain and suffering my problems have caused her. She’s always quick to remind me that we both signed up to be there through sickness and health.

If someone truly loves you, you will never be a burden. My wife could be in the hospital for any health issue ever and I would be right there with her every second of the day because I love this amazing woman more than anything else and I always will.

oh God, yes, especially when you're the one that makes the bigger salary, your whole identity gets tossed aside, you're sick and the other person has to take care of you. It is a crushing guilt.

My boyfriend treated me so good during my endometriosis surgery that when he stepped out for a moment my nurse told me to marry him because he was handling it better then she saw most husbands do.
