Is this really the government the Gen Z generation gave their lives for?
It has been seven months since this government was formed, yet justice for the victims of the Gen Z movement remains unanswered. How much longer must their families wait?
Where are the Human Rights Commission’s findings? What action has been taken on the Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission report?
If Balen Shah, Rabi Lamichhane, Sudan Gurung, or anyone else is suspected of wrongdoing, will they be investigated under the same law? No one should be above accountability, regardless of power or popularity.
Meanwhile, arresting livestreamers like Jhapalis and figures like Durga Prasai over their speech, allegedly by misusing the powers of the Home Ministry, raises a fundamental question: Where is freedom of speech in this democratic country? If someone breaks the law, let due process take its course—but criticism and offensive language should not become excuses to silence dissent.
The Gen Z generation demanded justice, accountability, good governance and freedom—not selective justice and the misuse of power.
Seven months later, where is the justice for the victims? Where is the accountability of those in power? And where is the freedom of speech we were promised?
Justice delayed is justice denied.
