@onsiteobserver: Roseville has approved a city-run recycling and garbage transfer center on farmland near Phillip and South Brewer roads. The city currently collects its own trash and hauls it to a landfill and recycling plant run by the Western Placer Waste Management Authority, a regional agency formed by Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln and Placer County. The City Council voted 5-0 on Oct. 7 to approve the 150-acre project, which would also include offices, truck storage and equipment space for utility crews. The approval commits no money, and city staff must return to the council before work begins. No cost estimate, funding plan or potential effect on garbage rates was provided. Activity at the site could still be four to five years away, according to the city’s utilities director. Learn more about this at link in bio #rosevilleca #placercounty #wastemanagement
