I agree that it will spur the extremist to extremism, but what it may do is deter the fence sitter who is seeking a shallow glory. The willingness to die for your beliefs is not as pervasive as we think it is.

If I decide to watch this happen, I will be praying for this man who did such a thing and for God to show him mercy. Pray for your enemies right? It’s not easy but it’s a love that I hope many feel. Only God gave me that kind of love.

I think there will be all different kinds of people who are going to watch it and we have no control over that. I do think it’s the right thing to do- that everyone sees it. Actions have consequences and everyone needs to be reminded of that in a BIG way. Especially in today’s world.

Thanks for sharing. Coincidentally, I just started reading the Bible, front-to-back, and read through these verses, for the first time, only a few days before this news came out. It definitely made me look at this situation through a different lens.
