This scene is so poignant to me. Because he heard her but he didn’t UNDERSTAND HER. She couldn’t enter that little girls life just to know she’d one day have to leave her, grief stricken. She lost the love of her life to time and one day that girl is going to lose her parents. Because her parents were apart at that time that would’ve mesnts losing 4 parents and SHE COULDN’T bare doing what was done to her to someone else. Not the best reasoning but what a beautiful way to capture her grief. - my thoughts
