i love how when snow says "we agreed never to lie to each other", he's not saying it as a way to convince katniss, he's calling her out for lying by saying she doesn't believe him

Coin underestimated the type of relationship Katniss and Snow had. Katniss knew Snow was a bad man but he never ever lied to her, not even once.

I’ll never get over the look Katniss and Haymitch give each other over Coin’s idea. I think they both knew what would happen if Coin got full power

Snow here isn't mad at Coin, but impressed at her move on manipulating Katniss

No one can tell me that the dynamic between Katniss and snow is not one of the most prolific dynamics between a protagonist and an antagonist of their time. Snow never lied. He concealed, but never lied. Snow recognized katniss’s genius and never played her for a “district idiot” like capitol citizens believe district citizens to be. Both are so incredibly smart, talented.

God this was such a great ending. The victors meeting, and Katniss and Haymitch’s unspoken conversation. So good

Let's suppose Snow was indeed lying, he didn't care for the children or being wasteful and just cared for himself out of desperation, Coin still lost Katniss when she proposed another games and that was her mistake: always underestimating K again and again even when she saw her in action.

Snow is such a good villain and I think since he genuinely never lies to Katniss it’s the best way to have Coin’s villainy revealed

snow is not wasteful in his youth he valued food as he saw people cannibalising on other human corpses due to lack of food and snow was once poor too. the movie with Lucy grey proves that.
