@norma754sil: Ezekiel 18:23 (KJV) “Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?” God is holy, and He cannot tolerate sin. Sin separates us from Him, destroys lives, and leads people away from His perfect will. But even in His holiness, we see His great mercy and His desire for people to turn away from sin and come back to Him. Sometimes, people use the statement, “God hates the sin, not the sinner,” to remind others that we should not condemn people because of their past, their struggles, or their mistakes. But we must also understand that God's love does not mean He overlooks sin. His love calls us to repentance, and His mercy gives us the opportunity to change. Jesus demonstrated this when He encountered the woman caught in adultery. In John 8:11 (KJV), Jesus said: “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” Notice that Jesus showed her mercy, but He did not tell her that her sin was acceptable. He gave her grace and called her to leave her sinful ways. This is the balance we must learn as Christians. We should never use the truth to humiliate people, nor should we use love as an excuse to tolerate sin. We are called to speak the truth in love, to correct with humility, and to remember that we, too, need the grace of God. Before we point out the sins of others, let us examine our own hearts. We must not become so focused on exposing the failures of others that we forget our own need for repentance. God's mercy is not permission to continue in sin. It is an opportunity to turn away from it. The same God who forgives is also the God who commands us to live holy lives. He does not call us to remain in our sinful condition; He calls us to be transformed by His power. LOVE THE SINNER. HATE THE SIN. SPEAK THE TRUTH. CALL PEOPLE TO REPENTANCE. Because the goal is not simply to make people feel accepted in their sins, but to help them experience the transforming grace of God. 🙏🏻 #UPCNaic #UPCPI #WordOfGod #highlights
