@washingtonpost: A thick orange haze blanketed Indonesia on Wednesday, as ongoing forest fires continue to burn. The haze caused a spike in respiratory illnesses in the country as well as a decline in air quality across the region.
Forest fires in indonesia have been linked to land clearing for palm oil plantations, which are expanded to support the government’s biodiesel plans. the president’s energy program introduces two types of biodiesel,B50 a mix of 50% palm oil biodiesel and 50% fossil diesel and B100 pure biodiesel made entirely from palm oil.
