I was never able to pick a cucumber without them always turning out to be bitter, ever since I started doing this before I cut my cucumbers up I haven’t had a bitter cucumber

I rub them, peel them and cut the seeds out. No more burps and it also seems to not let them get watered down especially if your making sour cream and onion and vinegar cucumbers [Starry hearts][Starry hearts]🥒

I do the same but only on the stem end. It was explained to me like this; bitter comes from the stem so cut the end off with the stem and do not remove it and rub it together to pull the bitter back into the stem end. Cutting the other end and rubbing pulls the bitter further into the cucumber. The white looking stuff that comes out is the bitter. Never heard of it pulling the gas out but that could be true too.
