While the investigation was ongoing, the 46-year-old was granted strict conditional parole and released. In June 2025, Lincoln police executed a warrant on O'Toole's residence after his detention, and they discovered more than 180 indecent images of children on his devices. These offences resulted in his arrest and subsequent investigation. O'Toole, who was previously residing on Canwick Road in Lincoln, was subsequently charged with seven sexual offences, three of which were related to the indecent images that were found on his devices. He entered a not guilty plea; however, a jury at Canterbury Crown Court unanimously found him guilty of all charges after a three-day trial in May 2026. At the same court on Thursday, July 9, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Additionally, he will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the duration of his life.
