@abc7chicago: A man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking a woman at Westfield Old Orchard mall, Skokie police said. Police said the attack happened Tuesday at about 11 a.m. William Dobbs, 35, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery to a senior citizen and aggravated battery with great bodily harm. Skokie police said the Dobbs did not know the victim. Dobbs is accused of striking an unprovoked woman with a saddle-type bag. Police said he pushed her into a pond and held her head underwater. ABC7 was told that two Good Samaritans got in the water and helped her.
