In the college prep program I play in, from grade 8 or 9-12, you’re only allowed to swing wood, and it’s not even college, it’s because when you do eventually play in college, you’ll absolutely rake with metal bats. My teammate has a brother who did the same college prep program, and is playing JUCO, recently hit a 440+ bomb with a metal bat.
