Not to say I don't believe OP, but my little brother has always been VERY lactose intolerant. He is 35 years old now, and last time he visited me, I had to remake a plate for him because as I prepped dinner, I was very careful to use margarine instead of butter and avoid any dairy... until last minute when I added a huge chunk of butter in the mashed potatoes from habit. He ate pasta instead of the mash, but I realised what I had done only after he served himself a huge spoonful. Luckily he didn't have time to even put his fork in it before I took his plate away from him. It happens.
