@thebreakupjournal.mov: I think the quote hits hard because it rings very true for many of us. Finding meaning beyond love isn’t about giving up on it, or resigning as a way to cope with the hopelessness but to make a radical decision to live despite the circumstances and despite the uncertainty. For me, I’ve always waited for love to live my life, so when it feels like love is hopeless my life feels the same. But perhaps decentering love isn’t about resigning to solitude but finding a will in the peace and uncertainty of it. Surely it’s easier to tell ourselves love always finds people, but the reality isn’t so perfectly resolved. You can’t really know whether something is for you till you see it through to the end. We can’t just cover up the hopelessness and loneliness and expect things to change. I think we have to decide to live despite the circumstances despite how grim it may be, so as not to betray the value of love we set for ourselves. Finding love in your life isn’t about substituting the desire for romance or love in your life, but finding peace in the present moment, because it’s all we really have

in short, love yourself first.
I love the quote you have shared: "If you could die for me, but could you live for me?" Living is suffering and may endure last long. Meanwhile, dying is a one time suffering going oblivion. Hence, living has more weight than dying - in terms of sorrow and pain.

That’s why I’ve been focusing more on romanticizing my own life than looking for romantic love. Like enjoying my morning coffee, going on trips, or simply doing things that make me happy. I guess it’s nice to have things to look forward to that don’t depend on whether someone else is in my life or not.

That's why healthy relationships do not rely on partners completing each other. I think Anne Hathaway said this "Individually we're whole, but together we're more.

especially hits hard for the people pleasers! It was really hard for me change considering how i grew up, but now im content with being alone but still appreciate it when im in a relationship, but really, it also affects the relationship when the other person is still learning to love themselves, they constantly try to stick themselves to you in hopes of relieving their loneliness, which can be pretty exhausting, certainly not for the faint hearted

How paradoxical it is when I romanticise being alone, while feeling lonely at the same time, when I'm sitting at the table alone in the canteen and seeing others with their friends and laughing, when I'm walking home alone from the school and seeing others walking with their friends or someone they know.
But I do really like being with myself minding my own or maybe I'm just looking for a genuine relationship not just a romantic one but also a friendship that is so genuine.

This one hits so close to home. College kept me so busy that i forgot to crave for a relationship, i mean yeah i had a few crushes but not to the point where i was going to pursue them or be in a relationship. Please make me busy again so i don't get the urge to be in a relationship. I'm not saying that relationships are a bad thing but in this economy, in this era, I don't think I'm that stable enough to afford a relationship with someone.

It’s not wrong to love someone. But it is wrong to make someone your whole world and forget that you have a world of your own.😌
