I don't even know how to start this, but I just recently found out that goldie has hemangiosarcoma in her spleen. Before I knew what was going on, I started noticing that something just wasn’t right. She seemed to be tired and weak, wasn’t eating like she normally does, and trust me she eats a lot! She seemed very uncomfortable, and just wasn’t acting like herself. She wasn't even up for going for a walk like she always is. I kept worrying that something serious was wrong, and eventually her condition got bad enough that I had to take her to an emergency veterinarian to have her evaluated. I will try to explain her condition as best as I can. Hemangiosarcoma is an aggressive form of cancer that develops from cells lining blood vessels. When it affects the spleen, the tumor can bleed internally and can spread to other organs, which is why her veterinarians are taking this so seriously and why she needs treatment as soon as possible. Goldie needed an emergency examination, bloodwork, abdominal imaging, X-rays, IV fluids, monitoring, and hospitalization just to figure out what was happening and stabilize her. The emergency treatment and diagnostic testing alone has already cost me over $1,500, and I now have even more expenses that I have to deal with. Her veterinarians have recommended surgery to remove her spleen, followed by chemotherapy to help treat the cancer and reduce the risk of it spreading. I am doing all of this on my own financially, and Goldie is the only thing I have. I cannot afford to give up on her, especially when she is only 3 years old and still has so much life ahead of her. I am asking for help because I genuinely cannot do this alone. I've already lost my cat daisy and i cannot go through the pain again.
