Milk has many different names in foods. Whey, casein, lactic acid starter culture (sometimes) etc… there is TONS of research to be done with this. It was a long battle with my daughter. Ended up quitting breastfeeding bc I kept “dairy-ing” myself/my milk.

May contain milk just means it’s made near items that have milk! So they are diary free!

The terms the FDA allows for dairy is a lot… be aware because they can still be on a food labeled dairy free but still have dairy in it.

Coming from a mom that has breastfed 4 kids with cmpa… earth balance butter tastes way better than country crock, oat milk over almond milk. And do not try any vegan cheeses or anything, it’s not the same AT ALL.

I would eat sweet Loren cookies all the time, stellar pretzels, popcorn, hummus, Boursin has a non dairy cheese that’s really good.

Allergy mom here! “may contain” is a voulntary statement that companies can or dont have to put on their labeling, however from what I have seen is that is a company puts “may contain” its because they cannot guarentee the product doesn’t have residue of the ingrident or it can be cross contaminated with the ingredient. It really depends how sensitive your child is with the allergen and cross contimination! We personally avoid “may contain”

if you drink coffee with creamer, the majority of brands that say “non-dairy” aren’t actually dairy free if you have an allergy because they contain a milk derivative
