Here are my top five: 1. A comfortable flight (when it’s a long journey) I’m not saying Business Class (although nice if you can!). Think: Extra legroom An aisle seat Premium Economy if it’s affordable A flight time that suits your body clock At 25, I could survive anything. At 56, arriving rested is worth every penny 2. A hotel in the right location This is always my number one. Paying a little more to stay somewhere central means: Walking back after dinner instead of relying on taxis. Feeling more confident if you’re travelling alone. Being able to pop back to your room during the day. Less time commuting and more time enjoying your trip. “I would rather have a smaller room in a brilliant location than a luxury hotel an hour away.” 3. Travel insurance The least exciting purchase… …until you need it. Medical emergencies, cancelled flights, lost luggage or delays can cost thousands. It’s one expense I never cut corners on. 4. A hotel with breakfast included This surprises people. When travelling solo, having breakfast ready every morning means: One less decision. You start the day feeling relaxed. It’s often much cheaper than buying breakfast out every day. It’s a lovely chance to ease into the morning before exploring. I personally like to hunt out a cute place for breakfast, as a first time solo traveller , breakfast included is one less thing to think about. 5. An ESIM . I do not leave home without loading my @airalo sim. Once you land you have data to book an uber to your hotel ! Which is your favourite one ? #travelover50 #midlifetravel #womenover50travel #solotraveling
