@analyticswithadam: What is a KPI? "Save more money" isn't one. It's a wish. Here's the ladder I use to turn a vague goal into a KPI: goal → objective → key question → metric → KPI → target. For savings, that's your savings rate: money saved ÷ take-home pay. €400 saved on €3,200 is 12.5%. Target: 15% by June. A KPI is one number, tied to a decision, with a target and a deadline. Then split them. Lagging indicators (your savings balance) tell you what already happened. Leading indicators (the payday transfer, takeaway nights) move first, and you control them. The test: does it predict the result, and can you influence it? I build KPI scorecards for a living. This is KPI Files #1 of 7. Comment your vague goal and I'll turn it into a KPI. Save this for your next planning meeting. #kpi #whatisakpi #leadingindicators #savingsrate #PersonalFinance
