The older I get, the fewer friends I seem to have, and honestly, I have come to understand that sometimes that is simply a part of life. As we grow older, our priorities change, our experiences shape us, and we begin to see people and relationships differently. We learn that having many people around us does not necessarily mean we are surrounded by genuine friends. When I was younger, I thought friendship was about having many people to laugh with, talk to, and spend time with. But with age comes a different understanding. I have learned that true friendship is not measured by how many people are in your life, but by the few who remain when life becomes difficult. A real friend is someone who remembers you even when you are not around, someone who checks on you without being asked, and someone who stays when there is nothing to gain. Over the years, I have lost friendships, grown apart from people, and discovered that some relationships were never as genuine as I believed. At first, that was painful. But now I see it differently. Sometimes people leave because their place in our lives has come to an end. Not every person we meet is meant to walk with us forever, and that is okay. These days, I would rather have a small circle of sincere people than a large circle filled with people I cannot trust. I value honesty, loyalty, respect, kindness, and genuine affection more than popularity or numbers. I don’t need hundreds of people around me. I only need a few who truly care, who understand me, and who will stand beside me through both the good days and the difficult ones. Growing older has taught me to appreciate the people who choose to stay. It has taught me not to chase anyone who does not value my presence and not to force relationships that no longer feel genuine. Life is too precious to spend trying to convince people of your worth. So, yes, the older I get, the fewer friends I may have—but the ones who remain mean more to me than ever. I am grateful for every genuine person who has crossed my path, and I will always cherish those who have shown me that friendship is not about quantity. It is about sincerity, trust, understanding, and being there for one another. Maybe having fewer friends isn’t a sign that something is wrong with us. Maybe it simply means we have learned to recognize the difference between having people around us and having people who truly belong in our lives. #fypppppppppppppp #fypppppppppppppp #canada_life🇨🇦 #fyppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp #fyppppppppp
