growing up we ate cookies like that too! but we used a mexican brand of cookies shaped like animals, called animalitos. I didn't know others did that too.

In Bulgaria we have baked open-faced sandwiches with yellow cheese, white cheese, and eggs (or принцеси с кашкавал, сирене и яйца in bulgarian) or baked open-faced sandwiches with minced meat (or Принцеси с кайма in bulgarian)
