Is there any reason you're making so many small requests instead of a few large ones? You could have "/api/dashboard" that returns all the data and can even use a single SQL query so it's better for everyone

Would assuming the user is already logged in be an optimistic antipattern?

Why are you not local first?

Seeing your other videos, App dev isn't your main strength. Or is it just for the tutorial?

thanks for sharing! 👌🏻 I was nervous you're gonna tell us the solution was redoing the app in rust 😂

You could just use skeleton loaders for the data that may update without the UI being updated, so the user doesn't see inaccurate information

this is the problem with vibe coding apps you did not even realize xcode has simulation of slow networks, hot phones, throttled gpu and much more — all built right in. To use. Before you submit to the app store.

Keeping you logged in before confirmation sounds like a security vulnerability, but I know nothing about webdev

I've literally sent your 26min YouTube optimization video for the 12$ server and made a skill out of it - thanks a lot for those skilled programmers for submissions, ive literally watched with my jaw dropped when heard some of those numbers (especially Fortran)

Also cache the user's session in the backend using Redis, use connection pooling, structure backend calls using async, throw in Gzip, page lists so that they load the first 25 items until some pages, and more.

Wouldn’t be better if you merge some of the requests? You can merge the xp, streak and maybe the first page of the leaderboard in a single API, and you can also merge session and subscription since a subscription could end during a valid session

Appreciate the break down. This is what gets learned from experience.
local first is a great strategy, but then you have the hardest problem in computer science cache
