@crmnallyobsessed: A father who claimed his 9-year-old daughter was kidnapped by someone in a white van has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for her murder. Luciano Frattolin learned his fate Wednesday in an Essex County, New York, courtroom, more than a year after the disappearance and death of his daughter, Melina Frattolin. In July 2025, Frattolin called 911 claiming Melina had been abducted from a Lake George rest stop, triggering an AMBER Alert and massive search. But investigators found no evidence of a kidnapping. Less than a day later, Melina’s body was discovered in a remote pond in Ticonderoga. Her death was ruled a homicide. A jury convicted Frattolin of second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse in August. During sentencing, Frattolin chose not to address the court and continued to maintain his innocence through his attorney. The judge sentenced him to 25 years to life for murder and an additional one to three years for concealing Melina’s body, finding the offenses were separate acts. Melina’s family shared a heartbreaking statement, saying they continue to suffer deeply but are relieved that this chapter of the case is over. “Nothing can bring Melina back, but we are relieved that this chapter is over,” the family wrote. Prosecutors say Frattolin has never accepted responsibility for his daughter’s death and instead blamed his ex-partner. The father who reported his daughter kidnapped is now facing decades behind bars for her murder.
